About the position
360 Smart Networks is seeking a highly skilled IT Support Engineer to join our South African team. This role is ideal for candidates looking to build expertise in cybersecurity and Azure technologies while delivering exceptional support across Microsoft environments. You will work in a fast-paced MSP setting, handling complex technical issues and contributing to secure, scalable IT solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Resolve support tickets end-to-end with clear documentation and timely updates.
- Provide remote support for desktops, servers, and cloud environments.
- Provide guidance to vendors, engineers and clients regarding on-premises infrastructure.
- Administer Active Directory, including user provisioning and IAM (Identity and Access Management).
- Support Microsoft 365 and Azure environments, including basic administration and troubleshooting.
- Identify and escalate security-related incidents and vulnerabilities.
- Maintain accurate documentation of configurations, procedures, and client environments.
- Collaborate with global teams to maintain consistent service delivery and strengthen the organization's security posture.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical Expertise:
- Active Directory and Group Policy management
- LAN/WAN networking fundamentals
- Remote support tools and troubleshooting
- Basic scripting (PowerShell preferred)
- Firewall configuration and VPN setup
- Understanding of security best practices and threat mitigation
Experience:
- 5+ years in desktop support (Windows 10+)
- 3-5 years in service desk roles
- 4+ years in server support (Windows Server 2012+)
- 2+ years exposure to Azure or cloud-based environments
Certifications:
- MCSE / MCSA / MCITP (2012+)
- A+, Network+
- Security+ or equivalent (must be actively pursuing or certified)
- Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) or higher preferred
Other Requirements
- Permanent South African resident and citizen (non-negotiable)
- No criminal record (non-negotiable)
- Own reliable transport and valid driver's license
- Fluent in English (written and spoken)
Work Details
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 12 PM - 9 PM SAST (non-negotiable)
Location: Office-based in Stellenbosch, Western Cape
