About the position
We are seeking a technically strong IT Project Manager with a sharp eye for detail and a solid understanding of inventory and obsolescence management. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving and managing IT-for-IT change initiatives across the organization.
This role demands strong planning, stakeholder engagement, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage numerous moving parts within a technically complex environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of assigned IT-for-IT projects, ensuring on-time, within-budget, and quality outcomes.
- Drive initiatives focused on IT obsolescence, specifically Windows and Linux operating system decommissioning.
- Produce monthly obsolescence reports for IT governance and oversight forums.
- Ensure business continuity by proactively managing change related to IT projects.
- Maintain clear communication with technical teams and translate project needs into actionable plans.
- Manage risks, issues, and stakeholder expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
- Remain adaptable in a dynamic and fast-paced project environment.

Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a relevant field.
- Project Management Certification (e.g. PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent).
- Minimum qualification: Matric.
- 5–10 years’ experience as an IT Project Manager with a proven track record in delivering IT infrastructure or obsolescence projects.
- Strong technical understanding across ICT functions including infrastructure, systems development, and service management.
- Working knowledge of Windows Server environments, technical admin tools, and cybersecurity fundamentals.
- Familiarity with the systems development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio.
- Linux experience is a strong advantage.
Preferred Experience
- Prior experience in financial services or similar regulated environments is advantageous.
