About the position
We are looking for an experienced and customer-focused IT Desktop Support Engineer to join our team. Responsibilities
Technical Support
- Provide remote support to end users.
- Deliver software support for Windows and Apple Mac Operating Systems, MS Office Packages, and business applications.
- Offer VIP support to executive-level clients.
- Troubleshoot software and hardware incidents and requests remotely.
- Perform application troubleshooting and support in line with incidents and requests.
- Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to resolve incidents and requests.
Ticket Management
- Respond to incidents and requests assigned via the ITSM tool.
- Ensure tickets are updated and users are informed of progress.
- Resolve incidents within agreed SLA timeframes.
- Review, assess, and resolve assigned tickets effectively.
- Escalate tickets when necessary.
Client Engagement
- Communicate clearly and effectively with stakeholders, team members, and management.
- Liaise directly with end users to resolve incidents and requests.
- Keep users updated on priority changes and expected resolution times.
- Follow up with users to confirm resolution before closing tickets.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an IT Desktop Support environment.
- Matric plus a Degree, Diploma, or relevant certifications with 5 years related experience.
- Certifications: A+, Network+, ITIL Foundation (advantageous).
- Microsoft Certifications (MCSE / MCSP) – advantageous.
- Apple Mac Certification – advantageous.
- Relevant IT Diploma – advantageous.
- Valid Driver’s License required.
