IPC Coordinator

About the position

Our client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented IPC Coordinator to join a healthcare facility in the Western Cape. This role is ideal for a nursing professional with a passion for infection prevention, quality improvement, and patient safety within a clinical environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and monitor infection prevention and control programmes throughout the facility
• Conduct surveillance, audits, and risk assessments to identify potential infection risks
• Ensure compliance with infection prevention policies, procedures, and best practices
• Provide education and training to healthcare staff on infection control measures
• Investigate and report healthcare-associated infections and trends
• Support quality improvement initiatives and regulatory compliance activities

Requirements:

• Relevant Degree or Diploma in Nursing
• Current registration with SANC
• Post Basic qualification in Infection Prevention will be advantageous
• Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role
• Computer proficiency
• Strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills
