About the position

ENVIRONMENT:

A renowned Independent Asset Management Firm seeks a results-driven Investment Technology Process Engineer with strong SQL skills and a minimum of 3 years’ experience within Financial Services or Asset Management. In this hands-on role, you will bridge the knowledge gap between Technologists and Investment professionals, engage in regular design, planning and architecture sessions while using modern tooling to increase your breadth and depth of impact, to analyse data and build automations. You will also need a minimum of 3 years in Financial Services / Asset Management, an understanding of data and data flows (data and systems architecture), experience consuming from HTTP APIs (e.g. REST, GraphQL) & exposure to modern tooling such as Python (or other programming languages) to reduce manual effort, derive insight from data and to enable the production of code via AI (spec-based development).

 

DUTIES:

  • Utilise your brainpower and knowledge to analyse and design better processes providing precise, accurate and impactful outcomes across all asset types for Investment teams and Clients.
  • Be hands-on; this is an active role, you will be in the detail of the Investment Technology deliveries, you bridge the knowledge gap between Technologists and Investment professionals.
  • Produce accurate Features (Agile) and Specs (spec-based development for AI) to drive new ways of working.
  • Work collaboratively across teams; keep stakeholder engagement high.
  • Work with Engineering Leads and Product Owners to deliver value iteratively in an Agile manner.
  • Engage in regular design, planning and architecture sessions.
  • Ensure Outcomes are clear, functional, measurable and deliver real value.
  • Use modern tooling to increase your breadth and depth of impact, to analyse data and build automations.
 

REQUIREMENTS:

Qualifications –

  • A relevant Degree.
 

Experience/Skills -

  • At least 3 years in Financial Services / Asset Management.
  • An understanding of how the Investment processes of an Asset Manager work, and a desire to modernise them.
  • An understanding of data and data flows (data and systems architecture).
  • Strong SQL skills.
  • Exposure to modern tooling such as Python (or other programming languages) to reduce manual effort, derive insight from data and to enable the production of code via AI (spec-based development).
  • Experience consuming from HTTP APIs (e.g. REST, GraphQL) as well as databases and files.
