About the position
Job Purpose
The Internal Sales Representative is responsible for driving revenue growth by promoting and selling the company's product range to existing and prospective customers within the automotive sector. The role focuses on achieving monthly sales and margin targets, delivering exceptional customer service, maintaining strong client relationships, and ensuring accurate order processing while supporting the broader commercial objectives of the business unit.
We are looking for someone who has a natural interest in vehicles, passion for cars and the automotive industry, enjoys staying up to date with industry trends, and takes pride in delivering value to customers within the automotive space.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales & Revenue Generation
- Achieve and exceed monthly sales turnover and gross margin targets
- Promote and sell products and brands within the assigned business unit portfolio
- Identify and develop new business opportunities through proactive customer engagement
- Maintain strong relationships with existing customers through regular telephonic contact
- Provide feedback on market trends, customer needs, and competitor activity to management
Customer Relationship Management
- Deliver high levels of customer service and maintain positive client relationships
- Manage customer expectations regarding product availability, pricing, and delivery timelines
- Handle and resolve customer complaints professionally and efficiently
- Provide technical guidance and product alternatives where required
Order & Administrative Management
- Process customer orders accurately and efficiently
- Manage back orders, open orders, returns, and supply availability proactively
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer information on the CRM system
- Liaise with internal departments, including accounts and logistics, to resolve queries and ensure smooth order fulfilment
Operational Support
- Support the Business Unit Manager and Product Specialists with relevant customer and market insights
- Assist with stock queries, product substitutions, and delivery coordination
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and systems
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Achievement of monthly sales turnover and margin targets
- Accuracy and efficiency of order processing
- Effective management of open orders, back orders, and returns
- CRM data accuracy and utilisation

Minimum Requirements:
Education
- Grade 12 (Matric) is essential
- A Diploma or Certificate in Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, or Business Management will be advantageous
Experience
- Minimum 5 years' experience in sales or customer service within the automotive or motor vehicle industry
- Proven experience in an internal sales, telesales, call centre, retail, or wholesale automotive environment
- Strong product knowledge relevant to automotive parts and product ranges
- Experience working with CRM systems and order processing platforms
- Computer literacy, including MS Outlook, Excel, and Word
Languages
- English (essential)
- Afrikaans (advantageous)
