A prestigious national intelligence-driven organisation is searching for a seasoned Open Source Intelligence Specialist to join its Monitoring and Analysis Unit. You'll play a key role in gathering and interpreting open-source data from digital platforms to support the production of financial intelligence and assist in identifying and mitigating risks like money laundering and cybercrime.
Direct and execute digital intelligence-gathering activities using advanced tools across the internet, dark web, deep web, and social media.
Identify and apply best-in-class technologies for secure, compliant information gathering.
Develop technical strategies, SOPs, and equipment protocols to support intelligence operations.
Perform analysis and translate complex raw data into actionable insights and reports.
Deliver impactful briefings to both internal stakeholders and external clients.
Ensure full compliance with legal and regulatory frameworks.
Use your cyber and intelligence expertise for national impact.
Work alongside experts in intelligence, law enforcement, and financial regulation.
Lead innovation in technical surveillance, threat monitoring, and countermeasures.
Contribute to the protection of South Africa's financial systems and institutions.
A relevant university degree (postgraduate studies in progress preferred).
At least 6 years' experience in intelligence gathering, cyber security, or threat analysis.
Advanced technical skills in open-source tech, cyber forensics, and intelligence tools.
Deep understanding of criminal syndicates, network protocols, and cyber operations.
Experience translating digital footprints into financial intelligence products.
Exceptional writing and presentation skills.
Foreign language proficiency (advantageous).
