About the position
Our client is seeking an experienced and polished Inbound MICE Consultant with strong destination knowledge of Southern and East Africa. The ideal candidate is an intuitive, detail-oriented professional with a corporate mindset who thrives in a business-to-business environment.
You will be responsible for end-to-end project management of international MICE programs, including client liaison, itinerary planning, logistics coordination, and execution.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Design and deliver tailored MICE experiences for international corporate clients
- Liaise directly with clients and agents to understand briefings, budgets, and objectives
- Plan and quote group travel itineraries across Southern/East Africa (including incentives, conferences, and events)
- Prepare compelling proposals and presentations using appropriate tools (e.g., PowerPoint, Word)
- Coordinate all logistics: flights, transfers, accommodation, activities, catering, AV, venues, branding, entertainment
- Negotiate rates and terms with suppliers and maintain supplier relationships
- Manage the on-the-ground execution of programs, including hosting, client support, and troubleshooting
- Compile final documentation: travel packs, confirmations, itineraries, vouchers
- Handle financials: costing, invoicing, reconciling supplier payments post-event
- Maintain high service standards and ensure client satisfaction at all times
Key Requirements
- 5+ years' experience in inbound travel and MICE (conferences, incentives, exhibitions, events)
- Strong knowledge of Southern and East African destinations
- Fluent in English (written and spoken); foreign language proficiency preferred
- Highly presentable, polished, and comfortable with corporate B2B client interactions
- Able to manage high-pressure timelines, long hours, and frequent travel
- Strong administrative skills and attention to detail
- Culturally aware and able to relate to diverse, international client needs
