About the position
Our client, a leading automotive Manufacturing company based in Durban, is looking to fill a 1-year fixed term contract position of Human Resources Assistant.
Purpose of the Role:
To provide ongoing support to the HR Department by providing guidance, support, and execution to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures thereby promoting labour stability and
optimal performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist line management with the preparation of disciplinaries, drafting of warnings, sitting in on grievances and attending to employee queries.
- Assist and support with labour matters regarding CCMA and Dispute Resolution Centre.
- Ensure compliance with the MIBCO main agreement and labour laws.
- Set up shop steward meetings and assist with feedback to the shop steward at the meetings and adhoc queries.
- Attend weekly meetings with production management to attend to employee matters.
- Set up and coordinate employment equity meetings, action employment equity plan targets.
- Support HR team with HR projects - implementation of Kaizens for the HR department.
- Assist with BBBEE, IATF and PWC audit requirements.
- Responsible for recruitment administration and planning to the onboarding phase.
- Assist HR department with HR projects as and when needed.
- Support with company events planning and deployment.
- Ensuring HR record keeping are always updated and maintained.
- Assist, support, coordinate and facilitate HR administration tasks and HR general affairs.
- Overall support to the HR department as and when needed.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Grade 12 Senior Certificate
- Diploma or Degree in Human Resources / Labour Relations / Labour Law
- Knowledge of South African Labour Laws (BCEA, LRA, SDA, OHSA, EE)
- At least 3-5 years' experience in HR/IR within a manufacturing industry
- Experience in the Automotive Industry is preferable
- Intermediate experience with MS Office (Word & Excel); PowerPoint and Outlook
