About the position
Strategic Leadership:
? Defining and communicating the technical vision, strategy, and roadmap for the Engineering department.
? Overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of engineering projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
Stakeholders (Internal and External):
? Building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, vendors, and partners.
Resource Management:
? Managing the engineering budget, allocating resources effectively, and optimizing resource utilization.
Compliance and Risk Management:
? Ensuring that all engineering activities comply with relevant regulations, standards, and best practices.
? Product compliance with the relevant SANS electrical codes and standards.
? Comply with all rules, regulations, policies and procedures of the Company.
Team Management:
? Leading, mentoring, and managing a team of Engineers and Project managers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
Technical Expertise:
? Providing technical guidance and support to the engineering team, staying up-to-date on industry trends and best practices.
? Providing technical support to sales team in conducting site audits, system design, defining scope of work as well as costing for quotation and tenders.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
? Collaborating with other departments, such as product management, sales, and marketing, to align engineering efforts with overall business objectives.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement:
? Fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the engineering department, encouraging the adoption of new technologies and methodologies.
Growth and Profitability:
? Ensure that all jobs, projects or calls are delivered within scope, time, cost and quality to meet customer needs and requirements.
? Identify where cost savings can be implemented. New suppliers etc.
? Identify new products and solutions.
? Contribute in growing the Power business
Minimum Requirements:
Desired Skills:
- BEng Electrical Engineering degree
- ECSA registered
