JOB TITLE: Group Financial Executive

PURPOSE STATEMENT
The incumbent will be responsible for the Groups Financial Reporting including financial planning, good financial governance and reporting. The successful candidate needs to account and report on a holding company and its subsidiaries, and associates.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Ensure the integrity of the General ledger for reporting - Control, maintenance & management.
- Ensure the integrity of Corporate and Group monthly management accounts, Group balance sheets, cash flows, budgets, and forecasts.
- Ensure all monthly International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) reporting requirements are met in terms of quality (accuracy, completeness) and timeliness.
- Implement a robust Group monthly reporting process and discipline.
- Play a leading role in partnering with divisional heads of finance and subsidiary finance leaders to manage major aspects of financial reporting
- Attend monthly financial reviews and budget (forecast) meetings.
- Be the Group IFRS advisor, develop and maintain appropriate accounting policies, processes, and internal control systems in terms of IFRS.
- Prepare and/or review Audit committee and Board financial pack submissions for the Board and Sub-Committee meetings, and ensure timely submission thereof (including budgets, interim and year-end packs).
- Ensure the integrity of the financial figures reported in SENS announcements.
- Assist the Group FD with preparing for investor roadshow and responding to analyst and investor queries.
- Providing financial data and information requested by management on a timely basis.
- Be the key contact for interim and year-end external audit and annual report preparation.
- Drive automation of applications, processes and controls in Group finance and related process enhancements.
- Ensure Group financial statements are prepared in compliance with IFRS for interim and annual reports.
- Ensure timely and accurate accounting for acquisitions and disposals, and Group reorganization, including Purchase Price Allocations.
- Provide input into Group Treasury for cashflow forecast, dividend memo and S&L submission.
- Key advisor and signatory of loan and facility legal agreements and secretarial related legal agreements.
- Prepare Cost of Capital calculations and check impairment calculations in line with IFRS requirements
- Ensure accurate and completeness of accounting and reporting of long-term incentive scheme, and compliance with IFRS
- Support the Group FD with Social & Ethics Working Group duties and responsibilities.
- Support the Group FD with responses to ensure timely submission of JSE and other financial regulatory submissions.
- Maintenance of Group Companies Limits of Authority.
- Provide input in the Integrated Reporting compilation process.
- Training - Internal (On the job for employees) and External (Skills upgrade & maintenance).
- Understudy for the Group Financial Director.
- Provide guidance and development opportunities to direct reports.
Desired Experience & Qualification
FORMAL EDUCATION
- A qualified CA (SA), with at least 10 year's post articles with Group Finance experience.
EXPERIENCE
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Finnivo or similar experience.
- Sage X3 or related proficiency essential.
- Broad understanding of all the different areas of finance.
- Results oriented and performance driven with a focus on excellence.
- Ability to pay attention to detail while maintaining oversight on broader finance.
- Good understanding of forecasting and budgeting techniques, internal and external reporting.
- Strong business understanding.
- Strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES
- Specialist knowledge in Financial Reporting.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS (current and new standards).

- Experience with JSE listing requirements.
