Description/Synopsis:
Executive Assignment: We are seeking a highly experienced Group CFO to lead the financial strategy and drive operational excellence across an established and diverse agricultural business. This is a critical Executive Leadership role, reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with the Board and shareholders. The successful candidate will play a key role in business turnaround initiatives, long-term value creation, and enterprise-wide decision-making, leading diverse teams across multiple divisions.
Minimum Requirements:
- CA(SA) qualification essential
- At least 10 years’ experience at senior executive level in financial leadership roles
- Demonstrated success in business turnaround and strategic financial transformation
- Strong commercial experience with high Business Acumen
- Extensive experience in multi-site, agricultural or manufacturing environments.
- Deep understanding of manufacturing processes and operations.
- Familiarity with export regulations, trade legislation and identifying market growth opportunities
- Solid experience with ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics 365 advantageous)
- Technical understanding of B-BBEE compliance and strategic contribution to scorecard management.
- Tech savvy and forward thinking, ready to embrace future AI Initiatives
- Understanding of SA Labour Legislation, particularly with blue collar, unionised environments.
- Willingness to travel extensively to various sites nationally and internationally.
- Visionary leader with sound commercial judgement and strategic foresight
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills at board and executive level
- Resilient under pressure and skilled in dynamic, change-oriented environments
- Highly collaborative, with a focus on building capacity and enhancing organisational effectiveness.
Main Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing national finance and support services team, across various sites and divisions
- Lead all group-level finance functions including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, treasury, audit, and tax compliance.
- Oversee performance across multiple divisions and sites with a focus on driving profitability and efficiency
- Drive financial transformation projects, cost optimisation and automation initiatives
- Provide commercial insights to support business expansion, market entry and international trade opportunities.
- Partner with executives and divisional heads to ensure customer-centric financial processes,
- Oversee the IT Function and Group’s ERP and financial systems, ensuring effective governance and digital integration
- Ensure ongoing compliance with relevant legislation including financial, tax, B-BBEE, and trade regulations
- Present financial insights and business risks to internal and external stakeholders, including the Board and shareholder groups
- Oversee Group Internal Audit function.
