About the position
Qualified and experienced Foundation Phase Teachers are required to teach Grades 1, 2, and 3. The successful candidates must demonstrate strong early literacy and numeracy instruction, excellent classroom management, and a passion for guiding young learners through critical developmental years.
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Education (Foundation Phase) or equivalent
- SACE certification
- 2-5 years classroom experience teaching Foundation Phase learners
- Strong understanding of phonics, reading development, handwriting, numeracy foundations, and age-appropriate milestones
- Proven classroom discipline, structured routines, and learner support strategies
- Computer literacy and confidence integrating IT into teaching and learning
Key Performance Areas:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons aligned to school and curriculum standards
- Build and strengthen learner literacy, numeracy, and general learning readiness
- Monitor and assess student progress, conduct regular evaluations, and provide targeted intervention where required
- Provide professional communication and feedback to parents and guardians
- Participate in school duties, meetings, extra murals and professional development
- Contribute to a disciplined, caring and motivated learning environment that supports individual growth while maintaining high expectations
