Financial Manager at Rimex Africa

About the position

The Finance Manager reports to the General Manager and is responsible for the company's financial plans and policies and accounting practices including maintenance of the fiscal records and preparation of financial reports for RIMEX Africa. The Finance Manager also manages the relationships with lending institutions, Government Agencies and external Accountants. This position involves overall supervision of property, cost and general accounting, budgetary controls, accounting and HR staff.

Key Activities:

• Provide leadership, coaching and mentorship for accounting and administration
  staff
• Conduct Performance Incentive Plan goal setting and evaluations with
  employees including a mid-year check in and personal development goals
  Financial Reporting & Analysis
• Development, analysis and interpretation of financial information to evaluate
  operating results in areas of profitability, performance against budget, and other
  areas bearing on the fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness of the
  organization.
• Prepare financial forecasts including Sales Guidance Reports and cash flow
  models to support short and long term business goals and objectives.
• Preparation of month end reporting including reconciling of balance sheet
  accounts, depreciation calculations, review of expense accounts and adjusting
  journal entries
• Year end working papers for forwarding to external accountant.
• Monthly reporting to the RIMEX head office in Singapore/Canada and
  collaboration on strategy.
• Treasury Function - one of three key personnel doing the treasury function
  including: ETF, ACH, Wires, Cheque signing
• Oversee collection of Accounts Receivables and Credit Management.
  Strategy & Projects
• Participate in the strategic business planning process as a member of the senior
  management team
• Work with the production team to improve the integration and accuracy of the
  costing system with the financial system

• Manage the implementation of required tax changes

• Represent the organization as appropriate in its relationships with major
  customers, strategic partners, suppliers, competitors, lending institutions,
  government agencies and similar groups

• Coordinate the activities of external accountants and agency auditors
