Looking for a hands-on Financial Controller ready to make the numbers work behind the scenes of media company! Is this you? You're reliable, proactive and not afraid to get stuck in. You're comfortable owning your space while managing and supporting others. You want to work in-office, be a strong right hand, and grow into more than just a title. What you'll be doing (and why you'll enjoy it) You'll oversee the full financial function, reporting to the MD. From managing budgets, cash flow and payroll to reconciling supplier invoices, overseeing tax compliance and handling multi-currency billing and forex payments. You'll keep monthly and project financials in check, support producers with accurate reporting, and liaise with SARS, auditors and production teams. With two Bookkeepers reporting to you and systems like Xero in place, you'll thrive if you love creating order and spotting opportunities to improve. This is a company of 11 employees so we're looking for someone that understands the nature of a small business and wants to be hands on. Where you'll be doing it You'll be joining a respected and well-established South African media company based in Cape Town CBD. You will be office based Monday to Friday and work with a bunch of lovely people that are creative in nature. What you'll need You'll bring a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance, ideally with SAICA articles (AGA(SA) or CIMA and at least 3 years' experience in a similar role. Experience in media, production or creative industries is a big plus. You should know your way around Xero, SARS systems and Excel and be confident managing budgets, people, and reporting in a high-paced setting. You're agile and no job is "too big or small" for you. This is a small company and we're looking for someone that wants to make a positive impact and get stuck in.
