Financial Accountant

About the position

An opportunity for a Financial/ Management Accountant is available.

Responsible for management reporting and financial reporting of the business, ensuring accuracy of information, timely preparation and compliance with relevant accounting standards, taxation laws, company policies and other applicable regulations.
Ensuring that the objectives of the entire financial and administration system are met.
To actively contribute to the development and maintenance of management information and internal control systems.

Reports to the FD.

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Commerce degree (Financial and Management Accounting majors)
• At least 3 years' working experience in a similar business environment
• Advanced Excel skills
• Extensive experience working on SYSPRO
• Demonstrate personal competence
• Drivers license

Duties:

• Perform the financial month-end and prepare management reports
• Prepare all journals on Syspro
• Distribute reports to Shareholders and Management
• Process month-end General Ledger close
• Undertake Ad Hoc tasks and project work
• Implement and monitor internal controls
• Recording cash related transactions
• Monitoring and preparation of cash flow forecasts and liaising with management in this regard
• Co-ordinating and assisting in the preparation of Annual Budgets
• Preparation of Statutory Returns and payment thereof
• Perform administrative duties and apply good housekeeping practices
• Audit preparation and liaison with auditors
• Maintenance of asset register
• Drive the Finance supply chain processes to improve systems and controls
