About the position
Responsible for end-to-end financial control up to Trial Balance, with oversight of transactional finance teams and compliance within a multinational manufacturing operation.
Minimum Requirements and Qualifications:
- BCom Accounting Honours or similar
- CA or CIMA qualification with completed articles preferred
- 3-5 years accounting and finance experience in a manufacturing environment, multinational company experience is advantageous
- Experience within a multinational and multi-currency environment
- Practical knowledge of IFRS, tax legislation and VAT
- Strong ERP system experience (SAP or similar)
- Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, reporting)
Key Performance Areas:
- Full financial control up to Trial Balance, including general ledger, journals, accruals, provisions and fixed assets
- Month-end close, management reporting and balance sheet integrity
- Banking, cash, petty cash and bank reconciliations, including foreign currency transactions
- Supervision of AP, AR and Treasury functions, including creditor reconciliations and suspense accounts
- Statutory compliance including VAT, EMP201 and related tax submissions
- Intercompany accounting, forex revaluations, SARB compliance and group reporting input (HFM)
- Payroll journal review, cost allocation and expense control with trend analysis
- Audit support, insurance administration and assistance to the Finance Manager with year-end and tax processes
