About the position

Introduction

The position of Finance Controller: Accounts Payable is vacant. The Finance Controller: Accounts Payable will report directly to the Finance Manager: Accounts Payable and forms part of the Finance Division. The position is based at Head Office, Pretoria.

The total remuneration package will be based on qualifications and experience.

Key Performance Areas

The Finance Controller: Accounts Payable will be required to support the Finance Manager: Accounts Payable through the implementation of the following Key Performance Areas (KPAs):

  • Capture invoices received on the accounting system
  • Management of the travel agency account
  • Prepare vendor reconciliations
  • Process payments to suppliers
  • Manage internal and external stakeholder relations
  • Capture accruals
  • Review open purchase orders for validity and processing
  • Analyze GL accounts and prepare reconciliations for monthly reporting
  • Check compliance with SOP, scheme contracts, and policies
  • Identify risks during transaction processing
  • Ensure internal controls are working correctly
  • Monitor operational risk register
  • Provide input for changes to Finance SOP and scheme-related policies
  • Manage records maintenance in line with data retention requirements
  • Assist with internal and external audits
  • Perform month-end and year-end financial activities

Minimum Requirements
  • Diploma/ Certificate in Accounting or similar at an NQF Level 5
  • Minimum of two years accounts payable and finance related experience
