About the position
Position Overview:
We are looking for a mature, driven Field Sales Representative to cover the greater Gauteng region (with frequent activity in and around Sandton and surrounding municipal zones). This dual-role position requires you to act as both an account manager for existing key clients, and a business-development specialist tasked with identifying and winning new opportunities. You will be the face of the company in the field-from managing a select portfolio of customers, ensuring outstanding service, product adoption and client satisfaction, to targeting new market segments, expanding footprint and achieving agreed commercial objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain, service and grow existing key accounts: ensuring high client retention, repeat orders, service levels, and satisfaction.
- Identify, qualify and convert new business opportunities across hotels, cafés, quick-service restaurants, food-retail outlets and other relevant channels within the Gauteng region.
- Position our product portfolio (premium coffee cups, clear drink cups, biodegradable/eco-friendly consumables) in a way that reinforces our market differentiation of quality + service.
- Manage your territory: pipeline creation, sales forecasting, routing/planning, face-to-face visits, product demonstrations and presentations as required.
- Work closely with internal operations (logistics, stock management, customer service) to ensure your clients' needs are met on-time, accurately and with the high standard of service our brand demands.
- Report on account activity, market trends, competitor behaviour and opportunities, feeding insights back to management and assisting with strategic growth initiatives.
- Meet and exceed defined sales targets (both in terms of revenue and margin) and contribute to the overall business development objectives of the region.
Ideally You Will Have:
- Previous field sales experience in the FMCG, food service or packaging consumables industry (or similar environment) with a strong track record of key account management and business development.
- A mature and professional disposition; used to representing a premium brand and delivering service at a high standard.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
- Strong planning and organisational skills: you manage your own diary, territory visits and follow-up action.
- Good understanding of the Gauteng hospitality/food service market, and ability to forge relationships with café managers, procurement contacts, quick-service outlet chains and similar.
- Valid driver's licence, own vehicle and willingness to travel extensively within the assigned region.
- Results-driven mindset, customer-centric orientation, and comfort working to targets and commission-based reward structure.
Rewards:
- Negotiable base salary in the range R 18,000 - R 21,000 per month, plus business fuel & cellular expenses paid.
