About the position

Role Overview:
An exciting opportunity exists for a highly motivated External Sales Consultant responsible for driving business growth across African markets outside of South Africa.
The successful candidate will focus on developing new market opportunities, expanding distribution channels, managing strategic client relationships, and achieving ambitious sales targets across multiple territories. This role requires a commercially driven individual comfortable operating independently while collaborating closely with internal teams to ensure successful delivery and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:
Market Development & Expansion

  • Identify, research, and develop new markets across allocated African countries.
  • Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline aligned with regional growth objectives.
  • Establish and expand distributor, dealer, and project networks.
  • Identify strategic partnerships to strengthen market penetration.

Client Relationship Management

  • Build long-term relationships with:
  • Distributors and dealers
  • Contractors and developers
  • Architects and specifiers
  • Key project decision-makers
  • Maintain strong customer engagement to drive repeat business and brand loyalty.
  • Act as the primary external representative across assigned territories.

Sales Execution & Target Achievement

  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
  • Conduct product presentations and solution-based selling.
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, and commercial agreements.
  • Drive revenue growth through proactive business development initiatives.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with internal departments including marketing, logistics, finance, supply chain, and operations.
  • Ensure efficient order processing, delivery coordination, and customer satisfaction.
  • Provide feedback from markets to support strategic planning and product positioning.

Market Intelligence & Reporting

  • Monitor competitor activity, pricing trends, and customer requirements across territories.
  • Submit regular sales forecasts and performance reports.
  • Provide market insights to support expansion strategies.

Travel Requirements

  • Extensive travel across African countries will be required.
  • The role involves regular international travel to develop markets, manage distributor relationships, support projects, and attend client meetings.
  • Candidates must hold a valid passport and be comfortable working across diverse cultural and business environments.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Commerce, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 3-5 years' external sales experience within African markets.
  • Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets.
  • Strong numerical and analytical ability.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Valid passport with willingness to travel extensively across African countries.

***CTC: R450,000.00 per annum + commission - (Negotiable, based on skills, experience and in relation to current package)
