External Sales Consultant (JHB)

About the position

ENVIRONMENT

YOUR expertise in selling firewalls, endpoint security, and Sophos solutions is sought by a dynamic Market Leader in cutting-edge Telecommunications to join its Johannesburg-based External Sales team. This role is ideal for a driven Hunter/Farmer who thrives on building new business while maximising value from an existing client base. You will engage with customers using connectivity, PBX, voice, and printer solutions, identifying security gaps and positioning tailored firewall and endpoint protection offerings that strengthen and future-proof their IT environments.

DUTIES

• Proactively approach and manage existing clients to upsell and cross-sell firewall and endpoint protection solutions.
  
  
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities through prospecting, networking, and referrals.
  
  
• Consult with clients to assess security needs and recommend appropriate Sophos firewall and endpoint solutions.
  
  
• Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation and needs analysis through proposal, negotiation, and close.
  
  
• Maintain strong client relationships to ensure repeat business and long-term account growth.
  
  

REQUIREMENTS

• Proven experience selling firewalls and related network security services.
  
  
• Demonstrated track record selling Sophos firewall and endpoint protection products.
  
  
• Prior experience in a Hunter and Farmer sales role within IT, Telecoms, or Managed Services.
  
  
• Strong consultative selling, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
