About the position
We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Enrolled Nurse with experience in psychiatric nursing and substance abuse treatment. The successful candidate will form part of a multidisciplinary team and will be responsible for delivering safe, quality nursing care to patients within a mental health and addiction recovery environment.
Minimum Requirements
Registered as an Enrolled Nurse with the South African Nursing Council (SANC)
Valid SANC annual practising certificate
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a psychiatric and/or addiction treatment facility
Experience in a private healthcare setting (advantageous)
Knowledge of mental health legislation and ethical nursing practices
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (advantageous)
Key Responsibilities:
Provide holistic nursing care to patients with psychiatric and substance use disorders
Conduct patient observations and accurately report changes in mental or physical condition
Administer medication in accordance with scope of practice and prescribed treatment plans
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
Assist in crisis intervention and de-escalation where necessary
Support therapeutic programmes and group activities
Collaborate effectively with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals
Ensure adherence to infection prevention and control protocols
Maintain patient confidentiality and uphold professional standards at all times
