About the position
DBN000183 – Engineering Manager (Mining) - Tzaneen
Purpose of the Job:
To ensure the safety, efficiency, and productivity of a mine's engineering and plant operations through strategic planning, budget management, and compliance with the Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA)
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Engineering Degree/Diploma (Mechanical or Electrical)- With GCC Mine & Works
- Solid knowledge of the Mone Health & Safety Act
- Solid knowledge of gold processing plants
- Must have knowledge of winders and be prepared to work underground
- Prepared to work stand-by, shifts, weekends, public holidays, and overtime
Technical Tasks, Competencies & Experience:
- Managing the overall maintenance strategy for processing plants
- Define equipment critically using a risk matrix
- Ensure compliance with & support for the mine’s maintenance processes, strategies & standardisation projects
- Ensure compliance and safety standards to the MHSA
- Establish & maintain budget parameters
- Manage staff to ensure effective & safe Engineering practices
- Conduct legal inspections and address deviations as per the MHSA & submit reports to management
