Minimum Qualifications & Requirements
- Red Seal Electrician Trade Test Certificate (essential)
- N3 Electrical Engineering or equivalent (advantageous)
- Minimum 3-5 years' experience as an Electrician in a manufacturing/automotive environment
- Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, PLCs, and fault-finding
- Experience with preventative maintenance programs
- Knowledge of health & safety regulations (OHSA compliance)
- Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, schematics, and electrical drawings
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Willingness to work shifts, overtime, and attend to breakdowns when required
Key Responsibilities
- Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of all plant electrical equipment
- Conduct fault-finding and troubleshooting on electrical systems and machinery
- Execute preventative and predictive maintenance to minimise downtime
- Maintain and repair electrical control systems, PLCs, motors, and drives
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and electrical codes
- Assist in plant upgrades, modifications, and improvement projects
- Respond to breakdowns promptly and restore production in minimal time
- Keep accurate maintenance records and logbooks
- Collaborate with the maintenance team to improve overall plant efficiency
