About the Opportunity
Our Client in the Motor Industry is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer (Advanced) for a flexible contract role based at their IT Hub in South Africa. You will play a key role in developing and maintaining vital digital platforms that power international dealer networks and business-critical systems.
RequirementsWhat You’ll Do
- Collaborate closely with business and IT teams to clarify requirements and design innovative solutions.
- Develop, test, and maintain Java-based applications with extensive integration points.
- Manage production deployments, release management, and incident resolution.
- Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines using GitHub, Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Participate actively in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous process improvements.
- Prepare technical documentation aligned with ISO standards.
- Support system audits, quality assurance, and change management processes.
- Deliver knowledge transfer and user training.
What We’re Looking For
- 2 to 3 years’ experience in both Development (Java/JEE, RESTful APIs, Spring Boot) and DevOps operations.
- Strong knowledge of DevOps tools and practices: Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with databases (PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch) and unit testing frameworks (JUnit, Mockito).
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and ITSM tools like Remedy.
- Advantageous skills: Cloud architecture (AWS/OpenShift), Apache Kafka, Ansible, SAP Hybris, Grafana, Kibana.
- Degree in IT or equivalent experience, plus relevant backend development certifications.
