Deputy Principal Officer

About the position

To ensure all decisions of the Trustees are timeously and efficiently carried out.

To liaise with external parties (e.g. FSCA, Attorneys, Asset Managers) on behalf of the Office of the Principal Officer.

Monitoring that the payment of contributions to the Funds is within legislated timeframes or such shorter periods as determined by the Trustees.

Ensuring financial statements and actuarial valuation reports are completed and submitted to the Trustees within agreed timeframes and submitted to the appropriate regulatory authorities as required.

Ensure the Funds comply with legislation, circulars issued by regulatory authorities, the rules of the Fund and such practice notes as are issued by the Trustees of the Funds.

Ensure that all levies are paid within the required timeframes.

Ensure any transfers to or from the Funds take place in terms of any regulatory requirements.

Ensure member queries and complaints are properly and timeously addressed.

Ensure regular trustee and sub-committee meetings are held, proper minutes of such meeting are taken and that action items assigned at meetings are communicated to the appropriate people for completion.

Ensure decisions taken by the Trustees in respect of member communication are implemented.

Ensure that the Funds have appropriate and continuous fidelity cover in place.

Assist the Trustees to ensure proper trustee training takes place.

Attend such committee meetings as is required by the Trustees.

Assist the Trustees with such other issues as may be required from time to time.

Undertake any special projects or assignments as directed by the Board, demonstrating flexibility and a proactive approach to support the Fund's strategic objectives.

Ensure that adequate and consistent Investment reporting systems are in place for reporting to the Investment Committee.
