About the position

A leading organisation within the healthcare and public sector environment is seeking to appoint an experienced and results-driven Manager: Demand Planning to lead and optimise the demand planning and forecasting function within its supply chain division.

This is a strategic leadership role suited to a highly analytical professional with strong cross-functional collaboration skills and a solid understanding of public sector supply chain governance frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Forecast demand for products and/or services (value and product mix) to drive effective supply chain activities for future planning periods.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including supply planning, operations, finance, quality assurance and product development to gather relevant demand inputs.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment to prioritise demand and support order fulfilment in line with business objectives and customer segmentation.
  • Act as the demand planning representative in Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) processes to support demand-supply balancing.
  • Develop, manage and maintain forecasting models, tools and accurate data systems.
  • Prepare and present reports, statistics and performance insights related to demand planning and forecasting.
  • Develop and monitor KPIs to evaluate forecast accuracy and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Identify, assess and mitigate risks relating to supply-demand variability.
  • Support organisational strategies across business, marketing, inventory, finance and production planning.
  • Develop and maintain strong stakeholder relationships at all levels.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring and supervision to team members.
  • Oversee daily administrative and operational tasks within the function.

Minimum Requirements

  • Degree/Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Public Management, Logistics or Commerce (NQF Level 6).
  • Minimum of 8 years' experience in Demand Planning, with at least 5 years in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
  • Strong knowledge of Supply Chain Management principles.
  • Sound understanding of PFMA and Treasury Regulations.
  • Knowledge of applicable public sector policies and procedures.
  • Solid understanding of Economics and Accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in relevant demand planning tools and technologies
