About the position
ENVIRONMENT:
Our client, a fast-growing AgriTech development company with offices in Johannesburg and Stellenbosch, is seeking an Operations Systems Analyst to join their team. This role forms a key part of the business operations and platform ecosystem, serving as the link between operational processes, support, data integrity, and system optimisation. The successful candidate will work closely with the Operational Team Lead, Operations Analyst, product teams, and developers to support business operations, investigate system and data issues, and contribute toward process improvement and automation initiatives across the platform. As the Operations department continues evolving toward more system integrated and AI driven processes, this role requires a candidate with stronger exposure to formal technical systems, operational technologies, process automation, and platform-based environments. This position offers excellent long-term growth into areas such as Operations Analysis, Data Analysis, Systems Analysis, Product Operations, or Automation focused roles within the business.
DUTIES:
- Manage and resolve first line operational and platform support queries via the HubSpot support desk.
- Log, prioritise, troubleshoot, and escalate operational and system related issues appropriately.
- Work closely with the Operations Analyst and Operational Team Lead to investigate and document system issues, operational exceptions, and data related errors.
- Reconcile loaded and processed orders to ensure operational and data accuracy.
- Perform order loading, pack planning, and yield estimations for various buyers on the platform.
- Develop an understanding of the company’s operational workflows, platform functionality, and system integrations.
- Identify repetitive operational tasks and inefficiencies that can be improved through automation and system enhancements.
- Assist in improving operational processes through better system utilisation and process optimisation initiatives.
- Determine root causes of data processing issues and assist with corrective configurations and process improvements.
- Exception manage incomplete, erroneous, or illogical datasets.
- Identify problematic data integration points and assist in implementing solutions.
- Provide structured feedback to developers and product teams regarding system issues, operational trends, and platform improvement opportunities.
- Understand how operational processes translate into platform workflows and data flows across the business.
- Develop exposure to front end and back end platform processes, including data acquisition and ETL related workflows.
- Assist with operational reporting and analysis using Excel and other internal systems.
REQUIREMENTS:
Formal Qualifications
- Bachelor of Commerce in Informatics, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, or similar relevant qualification.
- Valid driver’s licence.
- Willingness to travel when required.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Strong computer literacy with advanced Excel skills.
- Exposure to operational systems, platform environments, business systems, or technical support environments.
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and organisational skills.
- Ability to understand operational workflows and how they interact with systems and data.
- Interest or exposure in automation, AI driven processes, system integrations, or process optimisation.
- Ability to investigate issues methodically and identify root causes.
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to collaborate across operations, product, technical, and support teams.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced operational environment.
- Strong stakeholder and relationship management capability.
Beneficial Experience
- 1 to 3 years’ experience in operations, logistics, supply chain, AgriTech, systems support, platform support, data operations, or process analysis environments.
- Experience within agriculture, fresh produce, logistics, retail, or supply chain industries.
- Exposure to HubSpot or ticketing/support desk systems.
- Exposure to process automation tools, AI assisted workflows, ETL processes, or operational reporting environments.
- Afrikaans speaking ability beneficial.
