My client based in Cape Town is currently looking for a Data Integration Specialist to join their team on a contract basis.
IT / FINANCE
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field; Honours or Master's degree in a quantitative discipline is advantageous
- 3-6 years' experience in data integration, data engineering, customer insights, consumer research, CX, or analytics-related roles
- Strong experience working with survey and consumer insights datasets and Excel-based external data sources
- Proven experience structuring, mapping, transforming, and integrating data for analytics and reporting purposes
- Experience working with SAS Viya or similar enterprise analytics / BI platforms
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365, Microsoft Forms / Customer Voice, and CRM data integration
- Exposure to ETL and data pipeline tools such as Informatica, Talend, Apache NiFi, or Azure Data Factory
- Advanced SQL skills for querying and manipulating data
- Solid understanding of relational databases, data lakes, and dimensional modelling (star/snowflake schemas)
- Advanced Excel skills; working knowledge of Python or R is beneficial
- Experience with BI and visualisation tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar
- Experience with SFTP hosting and secure data transfers
- Exposure to data governance, data quality, and version control practices is advantageous
- Experience supporting AI or advanced analytics initiatives is beneficial
Responsibilities
- Design and guide appropriate data structures for survey-based datasets
- Standardise and streamline ingestion of survey data from external providers and D365 survey tools
- Ensure data quality, consistency, and readiness for downstream analytics and reporting
- Prepare and optimise datasets for dashboards and reporting in SAS Viya
- Liaise with Data Analysts to support development, validation, and publication of dashboards
- Translate business and research requirements into structured data and reporting inputs
- Ensure alignment between survey design, data outputs, and reporting logic
- Act as liaison between Consumer Insights, central data teams, and advanced analytics teams
- Coordinate cross-functional inputs and feedback without direct line management authority
- Engage with platform vendors and Microsoft developers to identify improvement opportunities in the D365 survey environment
- Support enhancements to data capture, usability, and integration processes
- Document, maintain, and improve data integration workflows and best practices
- Promote scalable, repeatable processes that reduce manual handling and risk
- Support governance, compliance, privacy, and regulatory data requirements
