A leading player in the African agricultural sector is looking for a Credit Risk Manager to take full ownership of credit risk and working capital strategy across the continent.

This is a high-impact, strategic leadership position reporting directly to the Finance Director for Africa. The ideal candidate will bring deep knowledge of agricultural finance-especially fertilizer and input financing-and a track record of optimizing cash flow and mitigating credit risk.

?? Key Responsibilities:
Evaluate creditworthiness across African markets aligned with internal policies and risk appetite

Design and implement credit risk frameworks and mitigation strategies

Lead working capital optimization with a focus on DSO, overdue management, and portfolio turnover

Partner with banks to enhance liquidity and working capital performance

Integrate risk models into digital platforms for predictive credit decisioning

Support M&A and divestment initiatives with credit exposure and working capital insights

Oversee Integrity Due Diligence (IDD) processes across the region

Collaborate across commercial, legal, and finance teams to embed a cash-conscious culture

Provide training on credit risk frameworks and working capital tools

? Requirements:
Bachelor's in Finance, Economics, or Business; advanced certifications (e.g., FRM, CFA) preferred

3-5 years' experience in credit risk within the agriculture/fertilizer/input finance space

Strong knowledge of African market credit dynamics, especially at the farmer and agri-dealer level

Proficiency in financial modelling, credit scoring, and tools like DebiTEX

Strategic thinker with hands-on leadership in cross-functional environments
