About the Role

An exciting opportunity exists for a skilled Credit Analyst to join the Commercial Banking and Transformation team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting detailed credit and financial analysis, managing credit risk, and supporting the delivery of sustainable financing solutions within the agricultural sector.

Key Responsibilities

Credit Assessment & Risk Management

  • Conduct detailed credit assessments and financial analysis
  • Prepare high-quality credit submissions for Credit Managers and Committees
  • Review loan applications and ensure compliance with credit policies
  • Perform annual reviews, re-advancements, and ongoing risk monitoring
  • Analyse collateral and ensure appropriate risk mitigation

Stakeholder Management & Support

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders
  • Respond to queries and provide guidance on credit-related matters
  • Support provincial offices with training and technical advice
  • Promote a strong credit risk management culture

Administration & Audit

  • Maintain proper record keeping and audit trails
  • Address audit findings and implement corrective actions
  • Manage reporting of credit applications and portfolio statistics
  • Support credit committee processes and documentation

Policies & Procedures

  • Ensure adherence to credit policies and procedures
  • Provide input into policy improvements and updates
  • Guide stakeholders on lending norms and credit criteria

Minimum Requirements

  • 3-year tertiary qualification in Commerce (Accounting, Agricultural Economics, or Credit Management)
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in credit assessment

Experience & Knowledge

Strong financial and credit analysis skillsKnowledge of:NCA, CPA, FICA and related legislationAgricultural finance (primary and secondary sector)Experience in:Deal structuring (asset finance, working capital, trade finance)Credit risk assessment and portfolio management

  • Knowledge of risk and compliance principles
  • Understanding of business and legal principles
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
