About the position
A reputable development finance institution is seeking a skilled Credit & Client Relationship Analyst with strong financial modelling, loan structuring, and client relationship experience. This role is based in Upington and will support commercial and developmental agriculture through tailored financial solutions.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Analyse loan applications and conduct financial modelling for commercial and developmental agricultural clients.
- Prepare high-quality credit submission documents for approval committees.
- Structure deals that are commercially sound, compliant, and aligned with agricultural development goals.
- Perform detailed risk assessments, interpret financial statements, and evaluate collateral and security.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders including Relationship Managers, Credit Risk, and Portfolio teams.
- Ensure data quality and compliance across platforms such as SAP, CRM and Acceleris.
- Support ongoing client portfolio management and contribute to proactive arrears handling.
- Play a key role in promoting agri-sector transformation through blended finance and targeted funding programmes.
Desired Experience & Qualifications
- 3–5 years' experience in credit/lending assessment (preferably in commercial banking, corporate banking or agribusiness finance).
- Relevant 3-year qualification (minimum NQF 6) in:
- Credit or Risk Management
- Commercial / Business Sciences
- Investment or Agricultural Finance
- Strong financial and analytical skills with the ability to structure deals and assess risk.
- Experience within a Financial Services or Development Finance environment.
- Proven relationship management skills in a client-facing role.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel when required.
