About the position
Role Summary
Responsible for the safe transportation of meat products, supplies and personnel, while providing operational support within the butchery environment. The role requires strict adherence to South African road traffic legislation, food safety standards, and occupational health and safety regulations.
Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
Valid South African Driver's Licence (Code 8 or Code 10; PDP advantageous).
2-5 years driving experience, preferably in food, retail or FMCG environments.
Clear criminal and driving record.
Physically fit and willing to work early mornings, weekends and public holidays.

Additional Information:
Combination of driving, cold storage and butchery floor work
Exposure to working with raw meat, refrigeration and cleaning chemicals

Key Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Driving & Distribution
Transport meat products, carcasses, stock, packaging and supplies between suppliers, abattoirs, branches and customers.
Ensure deliveries comply with hygiene, cold-chain and quality standards.
Assist with loading and off-loading using correct manual-handling techniques.
Plan routes efficiently to meet delivery schedules.
Vehicle Care & Maintenance
Conduct daily vehicle inspections including refrigeration units where applicable.
Ensure vehicles are cleaned and sanitised in line with food safety requirements.
Maintain vehicle logbooks, fuel records and delivery documentation.
Report accidents, defects or breakdowns immediately.
Butchery Support Duties
Assist with cleaning of equipment and work areas.
Pack, label and move meat products according to stock rotation procedures (FIFO).
Remove waste in line with hygiene and safety requirements.
Wear required PPE at all times.
Health, Safety & Compliance
Comply with the Road Traffic Act, BCEA and OHS Act requirements.
Follow safe lifting and handling procedures.
Report safety hazards or contamination risks immediately.
Maintain confidentiality of company and customer information.
