About the position
Are you a semi-skilled or qualified Conventional Turner or Machinist within the engineering sector looking for your next opportunity with a growing and stable business?
Our client in New Germany KZN, a well-established engineering operation is looking to bring on a hands-on machinist with solid experience working on conventional machines. This role suits someone who is confident working independently and takes pride in precision work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate conventional lathes and milling machines
- Interpret technical drawings and manufacture components accordingly
- Work from samples when required
- Maintain accuracy in tolerances, speeds, and feeds
- Use measuring instruments to ensure quality standards are met
- Follow safety procedures and workshop best practices
Minimum Requirements:
- Matric with relevant machining or engineering qualification
- Trade Test or Red Seal advantageous but not essential
- Proven experience on conventional lathes is essential
- Milling experience highly advantageous
- Strong understanding of machining processes and tolerances
- Able to read and interpret technical drawings
- Good communication skills and reliable work ethic
- Ability to work independently and within a team
