About the position

A leading organisation within the HVAC and built environment sector is seeking an experienced Consulting Sales Engineer to join its Durban team.

This role is focused on developing and maintaining relationships with consulting engineers, developers, contractors, and key decision-makers while driving product specification and business growth within the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain relationships with consulting engineers, developers, contractors, and end users.
  • Promote technical solutions and secure product specifications on projects.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities within the designated region.
  • Prepare technical proposals, quotations, and specifications.
  • Conduct technical presentations, product demonstrations, and training sessions.
  • Provide technical support and application guidance to customers.
  • Manage project pipelines and sales forecasts.
  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure excellent customer service and project execution.
  • Achieve sales targets and contribute to market share growth.

Minimum Requirements

  • Mechanical Engineering Degree, Diploma, or relevant technical qualification.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a technical sales, consulting sales, or sales engineering environment.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and applications.
  • Experience working within the engineering, construction, or built environment sectors.
  • Proven ability to engage with consulting engineers, developers, contractors, and key stakeholders.
  • Strong commercial acumen and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel within the region.

Preferred Experience

  • Product specification and consultant engagement experience.
  • Established network within the consulting engineering and construction sectors.
  • Experience with CRM or ERP systems.
  • Exposure to commercial and industrial projects.
