You're a highly experienced Structural Engineer who thrives on solving complex technical challenges and translating them into practical, real-world applications. You combine strong technical expertise with the ability to engage and educate others, whether it's sales teams, clients or industry stakeholders. Passionate about sustainability and innovation, you're confident working with industry bodies, contributing to best-practice guidelines and signing off structural designs that push the boundaries of modern construction.
You'll be providing specialist technical expertise in masonry and alternative building systems. This includes supporting the sales team with training and guidance, addressing technical queries from Architects and Contractors and delivering CPD-accredited workshops. You'll represent the company in industry forums, contribute to technical papers and best-practice guidelines and advise on government and sustainability initiatives. On the design side, you'll review and sign off structural projects where masonry is the primary material, while developing standardised details for innovative building approaches. It's a role that blends technical depth with industry influence.
You'll join a respected and innovative building materials business with a strong footprint in South Africa's construction and manufacturing industry. You'll be a registered Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) with ECSA with a BSc or BEng in Civil or Structural Engineering bringing at least 10 years' structural and civil engineering experience, particularly in masonry. You'll have in-depth knowledge of South African building codes (SANS 227, SANS 10400, SANS 2001-CM1) and hands-on expertise in masonry design, durability, and alternative building technologies such as lightweight units and prefabrication. Strong communication skills and a proven ability to train, advise and engage industry stakeholders are essential.
