About the position

Our Client, an established transport and logistics business, is seeking a strong, experienced Business Development Manager.
 
If you are someone who understands the transport industry, knows how to open doors, and can convert opportunities into profitable and long-lasting client relationships, this job is for you.
 
Please Note:
Candidates must have experience within the transport and logistics industry and a strong understanding of bulk transport operations, side tippers or related transport solutions.
Preference will be given to candidates with existing relationships within the mining, bulk haulage, commodity transport or related logistics sectors.
The Role

  • Identify and secure new business opportunities
  • Build and maintain relationships within mining, industrial, manufacturing and FMCG
  • Manage and maintain a healthy sales pipeline
  • Monitor market trends and identify growth opportunities
  • Represent the business at industry events and networking functions
  • Develop tailored transport solutions aligned to client requirements
  • Prepare and present commercial proposals and pricing models
  • Negotiate contracts and service agreements
  • Extensive Travel

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience within transport and logistics
  • Excellent knowledge of side tipper operations, bulk haulage and transport solutions
  • Experience selling transport services into mining, industrial, manufacturing and FMCG sectors
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and revenue growth
  • A strong existing network and proven ability to generate new business
  • Strong commercial, negotiation and relationship management skills
