Role Purpose
The Business Development Lead will drive market expansion within the Mining and Agricultural sectors, taking ownership of new client acquisition and commercial growth.
This is a field-first, high-impact role suited to a commercially driven "hunter" who thrives in operational environments and enjoys building opportunities from the ground up.
You will engage both site-level decision makers and executive stakeholders, translating operational fuel challenges into measurable cost savings and financial recovery outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Market Expansion & New Business Development
- Identify and secure new enterprise clients within mining, agriculture, forestry, construction, and heavy fleet environments.
- Develop relationships with mine owners, operational managers, procurement leaders, and financial executives.
- Establish territory growth strategies aligned to national expansion goals.
Field-First Client Engagement
- Spend approximately 60-70% of time in the field visiting operational sites across key industrial regions.
- Conduct site assessments to uncover inefficiencies relating to fuel usage, logistics, and reporting.
- Build trusted advisor relationships within traditionally hard-to-access industries.
Consultative Solution Selling
- Position the solution as an operational efficiency and financial optimisation platform.
- Educate clients on digital fuel monitoring, compliance readiness, and automated reporting capabilities.
- Translate technical functionality into measurable ROI for executive decision makers.
Operational Deployment & Adoption
- Promote an on-site refuelling and fuel-management model designed to:
- Reduce downtime
- Improve asset productivity
- Minimise fuel losses and shrinkage
- Collaborate with technical teams during onboarding and implementation phases.
Pipeline Ownership & Deal Execution
- Build and manage a high-value national sales pipeline.
- Navigate complex procurement processes and multi-stakeholder approvals.
- Drive opportunities from prospecting through commercial closure.
Strategic Market Intelligence
- Provide feedback on customer needs, competitor activity, and emerging industry opportunities.
- Contribute to ongoing go-to-market and growth strategy development.
Requirements
Experience
- 4-8 years' experience in one or more of the following:
- Mining, Agriculture or industrial sales
- Fuel, petroleum, or energy solutions
- Heavy equipment or fleet solutions
- Agricultural solutions sales
- Industrial technology or IoT solutions

- Proven new business hunter with strong prospecting ability.
