Position Overview
We are seeking a Business Analyst with expertise in the financial/commercial sector and a strong understanding of IT systems and processes. This role is key in bridging the gap between business needs and technology solutions, ensuring that financial processes, systems, and data are optimised to support strategic goals. The ideal candidate will combine financial acumen with technical capability, driving both operational efficiency and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
Partner with stakeholders across Finance, Commercial, and IT to gather, analyse, and document business requirements.
Evaluate financial and commercial processes, identifying inefficiencies and opportunities for system-driven improvements.
Translate business needs into technical requirements, ensuring IT teams can design and deliver effective solutions.
Assist in system configuration, testing, and deployment of financial/ERP platforms, reporting tools, and other technology solutions.
Develop clear business cases, workflows, process maps, and user documentation.
Perform data analysis, financial modelling, and scenario testing to support decision-making.
Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and security within financial systems.
Facilitate workshops and training for end-users on system enhancements or new processes.
Collaborate with IT and project management teams on system implementations and upgrades.
Stay informed of emerging technologies, financial system tools, and industry best practices.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Information Systems, or related field.
Proven experience as a Business Analyst within the financial or commercial sector.
Strong understanding of financial processes (budgeting, forecasting, reporting, compliance, or risk management).
Knowledge of ERP systems, financial platforms, or business intelligence tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Power BI, SQL).
Strong technical aptitude with ability to understand system architecture and data flows.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking skills.
Skilled in process mapping, business case development, and documentation.
Familiarity with project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid).
Strong communication skills to liaise effectively between finance professionals and IT teams.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
