Job Description: Building & Construction Sales Consultant
Role Summary
The Client is seeking a high-performing Building and Construction Sales Consultant to join a fully remote sales team. This role is responsible for driving revenue growth by selling the Client's physical building and construction solutions into targeted B2B markets, particularly within construction, supply chain, and materials-driven environments. The successful candidate will manage the full sales lifecycle - from lead generation through to close - and will use their industry expertise alongside modern tech tools to engage senior decision-makers in technically and commercially complex sales conversations.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Revenue Growth
- Strategy: Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue targets.
- Prospecting: Identify, qualify, and engage prospects through outbound prospecting (cold calling, email campaigns, LinkedIn outreach) and inbound enquiries.
- Presentations: Conduct tailored product and project demonstrations aligned to the needs of decision-makers within construction, operations, and supply chain environments.
- Pipeline: Own and manage the full sales cycle from initial engagement through to contract negotiation and close.
- Data: Maintain accurate CRM records and sales forecasts.
Customer Engagement
- Relationships: Build strong, consultative relationships with contractors, developers, and commercial prospects.
- Consulting: Understand customer challenges and position the Client's construction solutions as the optimal commercial and operational choice.
- Alignment: Collaborate closely with Marketing and Project Delivery teams to nurture leads and improve conversion rates.
- Support: Respond to customer enquiries with professionalism, urgency, and solution-oriented thinking.
Sales Enablement & Market Feedback
- Insights: Provide regular feedback to Product and Marketing teams on market trends, customer needs, and competitor activity.
- Learning: Stay informed on product enhancements, construction industry developments, and competitive positioning.
Reporting & Collaboration
- Metrics: Report weekly on pipeline health, opportunities, risks, and forecast accuracy.
- Teamwork: Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure customer requirements are clearly understood and effectively delivered.
Qualifications & Experience
Requirements
- Industry: 3-5 years' experience closing B2B deals within mid-market or enterprise building, development, or construction environments.
- Quota: Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales quotas in a modern, target-driven sales role.
- Tech Literacy: Strong understanding of CRM systems (e.g. Salesforce, HubSpot) and modern sales automation tools.
- Skills: Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and closing skills.
- Autonomy: Ability to work autonomously in a fully remote, performance-driven environment.
Desirable Experience
- Tech Exposure: Experience with B2B SaaS, tech-driven construction solutions, or digital project tools.
- Systems: Familiarity selling ERP systems, construction estimation platforms, or complex commercial solutions.
- Process: Strong consultative selling capability across longer or multi-stakeholder deal cycles.
- Supply Chain: Familiarity with e-commerce, procurement, or digital supply chain solutions.
Performance Metrics
- Monthly and quarterly new business revenue
- Pipeline generation and lead-to-opportunity conversion rates
- Pitch-to-close ratios
- Customer retention, expansion, and account growth performance
*** Salary - R360,000 - R480,000 Gross Base Salary + commission (OTE) earnings (Negotiable based on skills, experience and in relation to current package)
