About the position

Background:

• Leading manufacturing company is looking for an experienced Brazer to join their team

Minimum Requirements:

• Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent qualification
• Minimum of 3–5 years’ brazing experience within a manufacturing environment
• Minimum of 1–3 years’ experience in a refrigeration environment
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings

Responsibilities:

• Inspect all components and piping on the unit in accordance with the Production Request Form to ensure correctness and completeness prior to assembly
• Fit and assemble components onto the unit as specified
• Prepare pipes in accordance with departmental requirements and specifications
• Clean and prepare all surfaces prior to brazing to ensure proper adhesion and joint integrity
• Perform brazing of all fitted pipes and components in line with approved procedures and quality standards
• Clean the unit and surrounding work area upon completion of the brazing process
• Conduct pressure testing on completed units to identify and rectify any leaks
• Paint pipes and perform necessary touch-ups once work is finalised
• Fit capillaries and ensure that all nuts and bolts are tightened and torqued in accordance with the department’s Standard Operating Procedures
• Maintain good housekeeping practices and ensure a safe and organised work environment
