Job Description:
The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of the business, including sales, finance, operations, inventory management, customer service, procurement, warehousing, and people leadership.

The Branch Manager will be responsible for driving sustainable growth, improving operational performance, developing high-performing teams, and ensuring exceptional customer service while maintaining sound commercial and financial governance.

This position requires a hands-on leader with strong commercial acumen who can confidently engage with customers, lead multidisciplinary teams, analyse business performance, and implement strategic initiatives to achieve business objectives.


Location: Robertville, JHB

Minimum Requirements: (Please note if you do not meet the requirements your application will not be considered )

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Business Management, Operations Management, Engineering, Commerce, or a related field will be advantageous.
  • Minimum of 8 years' management experience within a commercial or operational environment.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience leading cross-functional or multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proven responsibility for branch, business unit, or profit centre performance.
  • Demonstrated experience managing budgets, financial performance, and operational costs.
  • Strong leadership experience across sales, operations, customer service, and inventory management.
  • Experience within one or more of the following sectors is strongly preferred:
    • Manufacturing
    • Automotive manufacturing
    • Packaging manufacturing
    • Engineering supply
    • Industrial machinery and equipment
    • Technical distribution
    • Industrial consumables


  • The successful candidate must demonstrate:

    • Strong commercial and financial management capability.
    • Ability to analyse business performance and implement profitability improvement strategies.
    • Experience managing branch operations from both strategic and operational perspectives.
    • Sound understanding of inventory management, warehousing, procurement, logistics, and supply chain operations.
    • Ability to develop and execute sales strategies.
    • Strong business development capability.
    • Excellent stakeholder management skills with customers, suppliers, and senior management.



Key Responsibilities:

Business Leadership
  • Lead the overall management and performance of the Johannesburg branch.
  • Develop and execute strategic business plans aligned with company objectives.
  • Drive sustainable revenue growth and maximise branch profitability.
  • Identify opportunities for business expansion and continuous improvement.

Commercial & Financial Management
  • Manage branch profitability through effective budgeting, cost control, and financial planning.
  • Monitor branch financial performance, including revenue, gross profit, expenses, debtors, and cash flow.
  • Analyse financial and operational reports to identify trends and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure responsible financial governance and accountability across the branch.

Sales & Customer Relationship Management
  • Lead the sales function to achieve revenue and gross profit targets.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to increase market share.
  • Build, maintain, and strengthen relationships with key customers and strategic accounts.
  • Support business development initiatives and identify new market opportunities.
  • Ensure exceptional levels of customer service and customer retention.

Operations & Supply Chain Management
  • Oversee daily branch operations to ensure efficiency and operational excellence.
  • Manage inventory, warehousing, procurement, logistics, and stock control processes.
  • Ensure inventory accuracy and optimise stock turnover.
  • Monitor operational KPIs and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure effective resource planning and operational productivity.

People Leadership
  • Lead, mentor, coach, and develop branch employees.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and high performance.
  • Conduct performance management, succession planning, and employee development.
  • Promote employee engagement and retention.

Compliance & Risk Management
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and governance standards.
  • Maintain compliance with Health & Safety legislation and operational best practices.
  • Manage operational risks and ensure a safe working environment.
