A dedicated finance professional with hands-on experience in managing full-function accounting operations across multiple retail outlets. Key responsibilities include processing and reconciling supplier invoices, joint venture payments, and credit notes using Sage Evolution; maintaining accurate records through weekly and monthly reconciliations; and ensuring supplier statements and remittance advices align. Manages bank reconciliations by downloading statements, updating cashbooks, allocating transactions, ensuring VAT accuracy, and reconciling balances. Oversees daily cash-ups for all sales platforms including card, cash, Mr D, Uber, Bolt, and vouchers—ensuring all transactions are captured, reconciled, and reported accurately. Regularly creates and posts monthly sales invoices and journals to reflect financial activity in line with cash-up data.
Responsible for managing debtor collections, monitoring compliance with payment terms, reconciling CIT deposits, and addressing discrepancies. Manages VAT submissions across various stores, ensuring accurate reporting, SARS compliance, timely payments, and handling all related queries. Supports food cost control by capturing all expenses promptly and preparing monthly reports. Prepares full management packs—including income statements, bank statements, age analysis, reconciliations, salary journals, and statutory documents—ensuring each store's financial file is complete and audit-ready. Executes month-end journals for royalties, stock differences, salaries, ETI, and interest, with proper reconciliations and managerial sign-off when required.
Also handles stock and ad hoc payments, maintains filing systems, supports audit preparations, and assists with queries from suppliers and internal stakeholders. Demonstrates a high level of accuracy, time management, and financial integrity, with the ability to work independently under pressure and meet strict deadlines across diverse finance functions.
