About the position

ASSISTANT DIESEL MECHANIC or FITTER (MINING)

 

Overview: To assist the qualified artisans with maintenance, servicing and assembly of Trackless Mobile Machinery (TMM)

 

Duties:

• Receive duties from the Workshop Manager or Trade Tested Artisans

• Attend office hours & after-hour breakdowns

• Ensure all parts and oils used on the job are reported

• Perform all tasks to OEM standards

• Disassembled and dismantled parts as instructed

• Return parts to the supervisor

• Assist artisans to ensure TMM is functionally reliable

• Maintain housekeeping standards daily

• Ensure standards of Health and Safety are maintained

 

Requirements:

• Grade 12

• Previous underground TMM experience required

• OEM experience advantageous

• Underground Mining experience advantageous

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience

 

Remuneration:

R66/hr. negotiable
