About the position
A luxury fragrance house that celebrates the rich heritage, diversity, and creativity of Africa is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Area Sales Manager to spearhead their expansion in South Africa. This role is pivotal in driving sales growth, building strong retail and distribution partnerships, and positioning them as a leading luxury fragrance brand in the region.
With a vision to redefine African luxury, the brand blends world-class perfumery with authentic African inspiration, creating scents that embody elegance, culture, and innovation.
Responsibilities:
Sales Growth and Market Expansion:
- Drive sales performance across retail, wholesale, and direct-to-consumer channels
- Identify and secure new business opportunities, acquisitions, and partnerships
- Develop and implement sales strategies tailored to the South African market
Brand Representation and Management:
- Act as the brand ambassador, ensuring consistent representation of the luxury brand's African values and identity
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including retailers, distributors, and luxury partners
- Oversee brand visibility and presence in stores, events, and activations
Go-to-Market Execution:
- Lead product launches and promotional campaigns in South Africa
- Collaborate with marketing teams to adapt global strategies to local market needs
- Monitor competitor activity and market trends to refine positioning
Operational Excellence:
- Manage budgets, forecasts, and reporting for the region
- Ensure compliance with company policies and local regulations
- Provide leadership and training to sales teams to achieve performance targets
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business or Marketing or a related field (MBA is a plus)
- Proven track record in sales management, preferably within luxury goods, beauty, or fragrance industries
- Strong business development and negotiation skills
- Excellent understanding of the South African retail and consumer landscape
- Ability to represent a luxury brand with professionalism and cultural sensitivity
- Strategic thinker with hands-on execution ability
