About the position

ACCOUNTS CLERK
PRETORIA EAST
Our client, within the financial services sector, is seeking a Accounts Clerk to provide essential clerical and accounting support.
The role involves processing financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and assisting with client accounts and reporting under the guidance of senior staff.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Matric / Grade 12; completion of basic accounting or bookkeeping courses is an advantage. 
  • Prior experience in bookkeeping or clerical work within an accounting or finance environment preferred. 
  • -Basic understanding of accounting principles and bookkeeping. 
  • Familiarity with common accounting software (e.g., Pastel, Sage) and MS Office (especially Excel). 
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy. 
  • Ability to work under supervision and follow instructions carefully. 
  • Good communication skills and professional manner. 
  • Integrity and confidentiality when handling sensitive financial information.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process and record day-to-day financial transactions, including client billing, payments, and supplier invoices. 
  • Maintain and update client accounting records accurately and timely. 
  • Assist with reconciling client bank statements and accounts. 
  • Support preparation of basic financial documents and reports for clients. 
  • Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable under supervision. 
  • Maintain filing and documentation of client records, invoices, and correspondence. 
  • Assist with payroll data collection and processing when needed. 
  • Use accounting software to capture transactions and maintain ledgers. 
  • Liaise with clients to collect required documentation and resolve minor queries. 
  • Perform general office administrative duties related to accounting functions.
