Well established East Rand based company on the East Rand seeks a Management Accountant to join their dynamic team
The Opportunity
A leading manufacturing business in is looking for an experienced Management Accountant to take full management and cost accounting responsibility for its Plant Business Unit.
This is a hands-on role focused on product costing, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and management reporting, with close involvement with the Production and Finance teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and report on operational and manufacturing costs.
- Set, maintain and review standard costs of manufactured products.
- Perform cost-volume-profit (CVP) analysis and investigate cost variances.
- Prepare monthly management accounts and management reporting packs.
- Assist with annual plant operating budgets, including product costing, cost centres, headcount, volumes and raw material pricing.
- Analyse manufacturing and product variances and recommend corrective action.
- Manage fixed asset controls, including the fixed asset register, capital expenditure and depreciation.
- Report on production efficiencies, productivity and manufacturing variances.
- Ensure internal audit and financial control compliance.
- Drive month-end and statutory reporting deadlines.
- Assist with quarterly forecasting, planning and business partnering with Production Managers.
- Oversee petty cash, cash sales and accounts receivable controls.
Minimum Requirements
- ND Cost & Management Accounting, B.Com, CIMA or similar relevant qualification
- Minimum 3 years' relevant post-graduate experience
- Strong management and cost accounting experience within a manufacturing environment
- Experience in product costing, budgeting and variance analysis
- Advanced Excel / Office 365 skills
- High-level knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
- Knowledge of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and inventory/stock accounting
- Sound knowledge of standard costing and absorption costing
- Knowledge of management reporting under IFRS
- Strong analytical and business-partnering abilities
