About the position

An exciting opportunity is available for an Accountant to join a dynamic property business based in Johannesburg North. This role is ideal for a driven and confident finance professional who thrives in a high-pressure environment and is eager to build strong expertise within property and retail accounting.
You will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of financial reporting within a structured and fast-moving property management environment.

Minimum Requirements:

  • BCom Accounting or similar degree (required)
  • 1–2 years of accounting experience
  • Property accounting experience preferred
  • Retail property industry exposure highly advantageous
  • Intermediate Excel skills
  • Strong attention to detail and reconciliation ability
  • Confident, proactive, and able to perform under pressure

Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting and General Ledger

  • Prepare monthly financial reports
  • Maintain general ledger accuracy and perform reconciliations
  • Prepare trial balances, income statements, and balance sheets

Reconciliations and Transaction Processing

  • Perform bank reconciliations
  • Reconcile debtor, creditor, and loan accounts
  • Process journals and daily financial transactions

Compliance, Audit and Cash Flow

  • Prepare and submit VAT and statutory returns
  • Assist with cash flow management
  • Participate in audit processes and prepare supporting documentation

  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial records and reporting
  • Perform regular reconciliations across all key accounts
  • Deliver timely and accurate monthly financial reporting
  • Maintain compliance with internal policies and procedures
